Maggie Update: Saturday night she slept a straight 16 hours! She didn’t really have a great nap that day, so we put her down for what we thought would be a nap after feeding her and giving her a bottle at 4:15 and then she woke up at 8:15. We kept checking on her to make sure she was breathing, but the sleep all made sense because she had been cutting a tooth and not sleeping well at all for a long while. She now has 2 teeth! Her first one came through on Good Friday (March 29, 2013). She’s definitely crawling all over the place now, and when she’s by things that she can balance herself on she’ll stand/walk as much as possible. She took a few steps from Will to me on Saturday… so we fully believe that her walking days are getting closer and closer by the moment.
She says Da-da basically all the time, but it’s cute to hear her really start to vocalize. She has such spunk. She love snuggling and love, love, loves when little babies are around. She’s awesome!!!
Emily update: Emily is loving puzzles, smoothies, making fresh orange juice from oranges from Auntie Andie and Uncle Tyty’s orange trees, drawing, bubbles, reading books (current favorites are snow white and the bernstein bears), dancing and watching princess disney movies. Side note. We recently watched Monsters Inc. and Bugs Life. BIIIIGGGG MISTAKE!!! Now she’s paranoid about monsters and bugs. haha! Oh well, live and learn. Another big development in her life is tonight she went pee-pee in the toilet. Hooray. Who knows if this truly is the beginning of the end of diapers for her, but I was so proud. I’m really not too worried about pushing her to potty train because I’m a firm believer that when they’re ready it’ll just click.
Another Emily thing as of seeing Monsters Inc and Bugs Life is she is NOT sleeping on her own. It’s almost as though she’s experiencing some sort of separation anxiety because when I’m not right by her side (particularly at nap/sleep times) she just can’t go down. *sigh* I hope this passes soon, because although it is so sweet- it’s exhausting for me.
